Niagara Falls: Homan Walsh

Niagara Falls: ZapMan Meets Homan Walsh & Lelawala,
Maid of the Mist, 2004

Second in the suite of boxes inspired by folklore, history, and the majestic power of Niagara Falls.
In 1847, a young American boy named Homan Walsh won a kite flying contest across the Gorge, setting the groundwork for the first suspension bridge buiit across the Niagara River at the Falls.
The legend of Lelawala and her sacrifice to Hinum, the ThunderGod who lived at the Falls, inspired this assemblage.
